ArtLab: 18' & Off-Grid

The PlantBot ArtLab is a converted 18' enclosed off-grid mobile project space and exhibition classroom that combines new ideas and technology. This innovative lab-on-wheels has the flexibility to reach any community accessible by road, enabling meaningful engagement with the local population. The trailer serves as a versatile stage, challenging the notion that art is confined to traditional museums and galleries.

Since 2010, the PlantBot ArtLab has embarked on a journey to various communities, facilitating direct interaction with locals through hands-on art activities. These engaging experiences include the creation of plant/robot hybrids and immersive mothing events. These educational art events foster collaboration and interactivity by seamlessly integrating natural science, robotics, the environment, and sustainable practices.

Upon stepping into the trailer, participants don lab coats and embark on experimental artwork journeys guided by the artist team of PlantBot Genetics. These projects encompass various materials, including remote-controlled robots, recycled toy animatronics, living and artificial plant materials, solar-powered insects, and even living moths.
